People have a tendency to finish what is incomplete or broken... Frailty, my first piece in the series, is about the degradation of the salmons’ habitat. However, the use of magnets gave the piece a sense of playfulness and satisfied the human need to mend what has been broken.
My BFA was from the University of Wisconsin -Stevens Point. I then received my MFA in sculpture from the University of North Texas. I continue to create sculptures and furniture in wood and steel.
Most of my art is based on endangered species. I use wood, steel, and magnets to create unique 3D puzzles. Magnets are used to create connection points between the parts to create the animal. art sculptures for home
I have a couple of themes in my work. I enjoy creating modern furniture that has much of a purpose as it does beauty. I'm also inspired by humanity, mainly the people that dedicate themselves to saving endangered species. For each sculpture sold I donate at least 10% to save that species.
